Soccer by Rachel (SBR) is a competitive Youth Soccer Club in Ellicott City, Maryland
At Soccer by Rachel, our mission is to empower youth to reach their highest potential as both players and people in a positive, growth-focused environment.
We use modern and innovative training methods that are proven to develop players at all levels — from recreational and youth travel to college and professional play.
Training Schedule:
In Season
Team practices: 75 minutes, twice per week. Beginning in the spring, sessions increase to 90 minutes to allow for a slight increase in training volume.
Fall and Spring league play in EDP and National League
SBR Technical Session: 60 minutes, once per week. Players will also participate in film analysis during these sessions to support learning, decision making, and game understanding.
Players also work with a Mental Performance Coach to support focus, confidence, and overall performance. They work with Dr. Nassim to help develop mental resilience, focus under pressure, and strong performance habits.
Off Season:
• SBR Technical Session: 60 minutes, once per week, focused on developing technical ability, ball mastery, and confidence on the ball.
• Strength & Conditioning Session: 60 minutes, once per week. These sessions are conducted in partnership with Odyssey Strength and are designed to help players build strength, improve explosiveness, and enhance overall athletic performance.
Tournaments
SBR teams participate in two tournaments per year—one in the Fall and one in the Spring.
Coach Rachel is intentional about maintaining a 4:1 training-to-competition ratio throughout the season, even during tournament periods, to ensure players prioritize development and long-term growth. Keeping players healthy, fresh, and developing over time remains a top priority in the program.
